Gustav Adolf Square(the english version)

Gustav Adolf Square, or "Gustav" as it's usually called, is perhaps  most central meeting place for both youth and adults. Many different companies take its place on the square, companies as Sydsvenskan and Forex. On the square, there are often different people who play music and in the summer is Gustav square the central location of the malmö festival. Many buses and cabs go from the square, so if you have to take bus from somewhere, you can always do it from the Gustav Adolf square.

You can do a lot of things on the square. There is a company called Hansakompaniet and there you can find everything from fashionable Gina Tricot to a jewellery shop called Guldfynd. There are also a lot of restaurants and cafes and you can even find the favourites McDonalds and Burger King on the square. If you want to just take it chill and go for a walk with someone you like, you can do that at the square. It is very nice to take a walk among the fine pond which adorns the square, or to just sit on the benches and enjoy the atmosphere.

The square was founded in the early 1800s. King Gustav IV Adolf was king in those days and it is also he who gave the square a name. Around the square you can see many of Malmö's oldest buildings. In the northern part of the square you can find "Riviera". In the southern part of the square you can see the "Valhalla Palace". It is built in the early 1900s and was Alfred Arwidius who drew it. East of Valhalla Palace is Trygghuset. It is designed by Sven Lallerstedt, this building is counted as one of Malmö's most modern.

I think that Gustav Adolfs square is a very nice square. I'm often here with my friends and I always meet people I know here. I always visit the Square after a disco. I really recommend you to visit this beautiful square, you won't regret the visit.
